The hands-on demonstrations of the IPv6 plan have greatly enhanced my understanding. I look forward to using these insights to develop an effective IPv6 strategy for Roke Telkom.
Learned how to create an address plan and what is required to get IPv6 from AFRINIC also learned how to best design network address space and manage subnetting.
The course not only made me appreciate the urgency of announcing the prefixes we have received from AFRINIC but also highlighted the inconveniences I have experienced on my educational network by using PA space received from an ISP.
I enjoy the topics in this course. It teaches how to plan, estimate, and allocate IPv6 addresses effectively. This knowledge is vital for managing networks as we use more IPv6.
I have learned about IPv6 address planning, something I had never studied before. If I am tasked with IPv6 address planning in the future, this module will be reviewed.
Mastering Neighbour Discovery Protocol
Anyone who thinks IPv6 is just “96 more bits” doesn’t have a clue about NDP – the core of IPv6 that’s responsible for all of it’s differences from IPv4. In this interactive course, you’ll get to:
- Identify and interpret the five ICMPv6 messages used by NDP
- Explain how the operations of NDP give IPv6 is core functionality
- Analyze and deconstruct NDP packet captures for troubleshooting

I enjoyed learning about the benefits of using NDP and the essential security considerations associated with implementing it.
The course opened my eyes to Neighbour Discovery Protocol. The security configurations and the examples were clear.
I enjoyed learning about the benefits of using NDP, as well as the essential security considerations that come with implementing NDP. Additionally, I gained insights into network visibility, threat detection, and response strategies.
It opened my understanding on loopholes and safeguards that should be implemented within IPv6 deployment.
Materials are well prepared to help us understand the simulation of traffic/packet flow in the demonstration deeply.
Provisioning IPv6 Configuration
One thing that hasn’t changed from IPv4 to IPv6 is that every node still needs an IP configuration. In IPv6, unlike IPv4, there are several ways to provision that configuration: In this course, you learn how to
- Determine the best provisioning mechanism for various network scenarios
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot SLAAC & DHCPv6
- Design, configure and troubleshoot prefix delegation

This course offered hands-on experience and practical examples, allowing us to learn and directly apply the concepts.
The course content is guided and sequential. Also, it is good to use some of those YouTube videos. They become handy over time.
The tutorials on the configurations of different vendor routers were a major learning curve. I haven’t had much experience with RouterOS, but learning from here makes it seem easy. Diving into how SLAAC, DHCPv6, and troubleshooting SLAAC work gave a clearer understanding of the workings and configurations of IPv6.
I enjoyed the course’s interactive format. It made learning engaging and easy to follow. It helped me improve my understanding of the course.
The instructor presents the concepts of IPv6 provisioning in a clear and concise manner for easy comprehension.
Implement IPv6 Routing
While the core principles of how an Internet packet moves from Abuja to Zanzibar haven’t changed, how you pull that off with IPv6 (obviously) changed a bit. In this module you’ll build the skills to
- Implement, test and verify intra-domain routing using OSPFv3 & IS-IS
- Implement, test and verify inter-domain routing using BGP
- Diagnose and fix all types of IPv6 routing problems
Join 760+ other Engineers like you.
This was a very informative course. I now have a more detailed understanding of IS-IS than before, and my knowledge of OSPFv3 and BGP has been expanded.
The content is built around supporting a learner with the least knowledge but is also made easy for users of IPv4 transitioning to IPv6.
This was probably one of the most fun courses. We learned new dynamic routing protocols while relearning things we forgot about once we were using them and how to use them with IPv6. It was a great learning experience.
The course is supported with videos and questions. Each module has an exercise, commands on different routers accompanied by demos.
The tutorials on configuring vendor routers were a good experience. They helped clarify concepts despite my limited experience with RouterOS.
Mastering IPv6 Transition Mechanism
While we don’t have to be limited by IPv4 address availability (the good news), we still have to live with the massive IPv4 installed base (bad news). That’s why we need IPv6 transition techniques. In this course, you’ll build the skills to
- Determine the right transition technique for any mixed network scenario.
- Implement, test & verify dual-stack, tunneling and translation techniques.
- Diagnose and fix transition technique problems.
